How to Find Your VRL LR Number
Not sure where your VRL LR number is? Here's exactly where to find it and what to do if you don't have one.
Every VRL tracking search starts with one thing: the LR number. Miss it, and you're stuck. The good news is it's easy to find once you know where to look.
On your receipt (the 'builty'). When you book a consignment, the branch gives you a Lorry Receipt. Your LR number is in the top-right corner, almost always printed under a barcode. It's typically a numeric code, and it's the same number you'll enter into any VRL tracking tool.
If someone else booked it. Online sellers, shopkeepers, and family members who sent you something all have the LR number on their copy. A quick message asking them to share the number from the top of the receipt is usually all it takes.
If you've genuinely lost it. This is the tricky case. VRL doesn't tie a shipment to your phone number or email the way app-based couriers do, so there's no 'look it up by mobile' shortcut. Your realistic options are to get the number from the sender, or to call the booking branch with the booking date and route details and ask them to trace it — have as much information ready as you can.
A small habit that helps: snap a photo of the receipt the moment you get it. Paper builties fade and go missing; a photo on your phone means the LR number is always one tap away when you want to track.
